I discovered this place while walking through the Marais with a friend. The candlelit atmosphere and the menu immediately caught my eye. Coming from Costa Rica, I was excited to find a Latin American–inspired menu with an incredible edge. The mix of flavors and textures has kept me coming back several times. Since the menu changes monthly, it’s always a great excuse to return with friends or on a date. The vibe is consistently amazing. The service is wonderful. The host explains the sometimes hard-to-understand menu very clearly, is genuinely warm and funny, and makes you feel welcome. Something that’s not always guaranteed in Paris.

What a great find with a tasty innovative menu. The co-owners are lovely. The bartender, server-owner hails from Montmartre and the chef owner from Colombia. He adds flavors from Colombia, Indonesia, Peru, and France, and whatever strikes his fancy that month. The name is a whimsical jab at the more touristy marche des enfants rouges. I have to eat gluten free and two-thirds of their menu worked for me, and I don’t eat meat. The raw sea bream (daurade)dish was awesome.

This is a gem. Tucked near the famous Enfants Rouges market and the 3rd district’s town hall, Marché Noir (double entendre) will enchant your taste buds. The chef brings you a monthly menu to display current market trends and adds flavor from his Colombian roots. Monthly change is a religion whether a dish is popular or not. He will surprise you. Waiting staff is attentive and helpful, ready to help and to suggest. Give it a try, you’ll be surprised.
